Crane system for the giant factory in Kazakhstan is almost in place!

This is the largest modular factory crane system in Asia. This will be the most modern modular factory in all of southwest Asia and the former Russian Republic. Soon modular homes designed in the US will be coming off the production line. It is a welcoming site for the people of this area of Kazakhstsan. They will soon have the opportunity to enjoy modern housing that is produced in a Kazakhstan factory.

The new factory shell has now been completed.

Crane systems are now being installed, all management personnel have been trained in the US and soon the machinery and equipment will be installed so production can begin. Roger Lyons, COO, says “this factory will produce up to 14 modules per day per eight hour shift. We have worked very hard to keep everything progressing on schedule to achieve the start of production in early spring of 2012”.

Penn Lyon Housing Systems is performing a full turn key operation for the company jointly held by a US partnership and a Kazakhstan partnership. The factory, machinery, equipment and tools were all purchased in the states under the guidance and direction of Penn Lyon Housing systems. They were all shipped via ocean and rail to Kazakhstan. The first model homes were designed for modular production by the Penn Lyon group designers. These houses are being shipped to the factory as raw materials and will be produced into housing in the new factory.

Penn Lyon Housing Systems is currently working with modular producers in Uzbekistan, Russia and Latvia. Using the experience and guidance of PLHS, these other companies have been able to move into the modular housing business.

Tashkent Model Home Nears Completion

The modular home production facility in Tashkent, Uzbekistan has produced and installed its first modular home outside of the company’s production facility. This home will serve as the model for a 54 unit subdivision near Tashkent. Demand has been strong for these houses and the fascination of producing such a high quality home in a relatively short time is catching on quickly.

This summer, the first module rolled down the production line at the New Miaraka modular home factory in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. After many months of preparation, the production line is up and running. Many government officials including representatives from the US Embassy in Tashkent attended opening and dedication ceremonies of the first modular home ever produced in the country of Uzbekistan. Penn Lyon Housing Systems, in cooperation with Miarka Invest, Inc is proud to have been a very important part of this project.

All of the attendees were inspired by the fact that a home could be produced in such a short time period with a high level of quality. The future is bright for the modular housing industry in Uzbekistan. The company’s first order is for 54 – 1,300 sq ft/3 bedroom/1 bathroom Ranch Style homes.
